What is a Pocket PC? More Information

Here is some more information on Pocket PC Cell Phones from Wikipedia:

Pocket PC refers to the hardware that runs PDA on the Windows Mobile operating system. A pocket PC doesn't necessarily have an integrated phone. In other words a Pocket PC cell phone is like a handheld size computer with PDA functions and wireless phone functions.

Pocket PC technically is a hardware specification. There are many apps that can run on this and many are available free.

With the introduction of Windows Mobile 6.0 last year Microsoft actually dropped the Pocket PC name. The device with an integrated phone is now referred to as Windows Mobile Professional."

I recall back around 2004 when I got my Samsung phone for Verizon there was a lot more talk and reference to "Pocket PC Phones." The name as kind of died off and never got that popular. Most of the time people might refer to Smart Phones and some of those phones could include Pocket PC as well.
